Leveraging the Sustainable Development Goals to Transform Edible Insects & Livelihoods in Africa

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

The edible insect economy in Sub-Saharan Africa remains largely unregulated with prices determined by the buyer rather than the seller. The goal is to contribute towards an increasing awareness and potential for enhancing per capita insect production and consumption in a sustainable manner, thereby ensuring beneficial valorisation of insects at the rural level. Increasingly, insects as food have a key role to play in sustainable food systems. We Invite academia, private actors and civil society to expand our common understanding on how to reduce poverty and inequality to move the social justice discourse forward.
